A hectic day ( Hopeslayer)

Taylor did not even know why he bothered coming... He guessed he needed some sort of normal thing.. But even school was no longer normal. Ever since the dragon slayers attacked killing one person nothing was the same. And now instead of being picked on Taylor was now treated like a hero.. As he and Sarah had stood up and used their powers to save everyone in the school. Though everyone knew he had powers Sarah was forced to show her secret.. She still came when she had the time but not as much. Amara would come to as well. In fact she was helping Sarah and himself with homework so they would not fall behind. Taylor gave a sigh as he sat in class waiting for the day to start. Hopefully today would be normal. Well as normal as a hero's day could be anyway.

The teacher entered the room and set his books on his desk, preparing to start the lesson when the phone on his desk rang. The teacher appeared slightly annoyed before picking it up, listening to the other end before replying "Yes, I understand." He hung up and then looked at the class, his eyes focusing on Taylor.

"Taylor, the vice principal would like to speak with you in her office. Please don't forget to take the hall pass." The teacher stated, wanting to get back to some semblance of normalcy around the school. Ever since the day that insane group had attacked things just hadn't seemed normal at all.

Inside the vice principal's office was a police officer sipping a cup of coffee as he waited for the student to report in. The woman at the desk seemed happy to help the officer in anyway.

"So what is this all about anyway? Taylor isn't in any trouble is he?" The vice principal asked with concern.

"No no, he's not in any trouble. I just needed to ask him a few questions when he gets here is all. Sorry for the trouble." The officer said with a smile. It was so easy to get what you wanted when you could just possess a police officer, it seemed to make everyone less suspicious. The little imp inhabiting the body was quite pleased with how well things were going so far.

Taylor blinked when the teacher said he was wanted in the office. That was strange.. He had done nothing wrong.. What did the vice principal want? Well the only thing he could do was to go and find out. The young boy nodded as he stood up, " Yes sir." Taylor said as he walked up taking a hall pass then left the room. leaving his backpack by his desk. The young boy put his hands in his coat pocket and sighed as he walked. He was not worried really about what the vice principal wanted. Most likely just wanted a little chat and he would be able to go back to class. Soon Taylor was at the office doors and walked in. " Umm Hello? The vice principal called me?" Taylor said as he walked up to the front desk.

"Ah yes, she's in her office. Please head on in." The secretary at the front desk in the office said with a friendly smile toward Taylor before going back to her own work.

Once Taylor entered the office he'd see the vice principal sitting at her desk as well as a uniformed police officer sitting across from her with a cup of coffee in his hands.

"Sorry to call you out of class Taylor but the officer here needed to ask you some questions. You're not in any trouble so don't worry about that." The vice principal said with a smile to allay any fears Taylor might have had about why he was here.

"Yes, I'm officer Hanagan and I just wanted to ask you some questions. I'll try not to take up too much of your time." The imp possessing the officer said using the human's body to do his bidding. It was a very convincing performance to be sure and only one versed in magic would be able to tell that anything was amiss here.

"Could you step out for a few minutes miss? I'd like to keep this private, it is official business and all." The officer said.

"Oh of course, I needed to check on somethings in the computer lab anyway." The vice principal said before getting up and walking toward the door, patting Taylor on the shoulder as she passed. She closed the door behind her, her heels sounding behind her as she walked down the hall. When the sound of footsteps could no longer be heard the officer decided to speak again.

"Go ahead and take a seat. Like I said I just have some questions for you. If you'll just answer them all truthfully we can both be done and go back to our normal routine okay?" The officer said, motioning toward an empty chair next to him.

Taylor nodded and walked over to the door of the vice principal. He knocked on the door first before opening. And soon is eyes landed on the officer that was in the room. The young boy froze for only a second. A cop? Why was a cop here? Well now that he thought about it He and Sarah had avoided any law enforcement after the day the slayers attacked the school.. So yeah they most likely had some questions of that day. So he walked in and listened to what the vice principal before officer Hanagan asked her to leave. Taylor kinda wished she would have stayed.. Due to something's in his past he was a little uneasy being in a room alone with people he did not know. Though he had to remind himself this guy is a officer a good guy there was nothing to worry about. So when officer Hanagan asked him to sit Taylor nodded and took a seat. " Is this about the day the slayers attacked sir?" Taylor asked.

"Yes, this does have something to do with that. Sorry about coming to your school to do this, but you haven't exactly come to us... so here we are. So what can you tell me about this slayer group? They're wanted on multiple accounts of murder among other crimes. Any information you could supply to us would be most appreciated and will hopefully help our own investigations into the organization." The possessed cop said, only half lying. After all the information might prove useful to the boss who was waging a bloody war with the dragon slayers.

Rend was feeling quite comfortable inside the cop, keeping the human will suppressed was getting easier and easier each time he took a host. He was pretty sure that he'd be able to fully control this guy for at least another couple hours. Hopefully he wouldn't need to stick around quite that long, after all this was just information gathering mission which meant it was likely to be a bore for the imp.

Taylor gave a small sigh when he turned out to be right. So he wanted to know about that day and anything he may know of the slayers. Sadly he did not know much about them besides the fact that they where after Taji... That was the whole reason they had taken over the school.. But due to someone helping her Taji was able to look like someone else at the time and went under a different name. Though that was one thing he was not going to say. It would be bad for Taji if anyone knew she was a dragon. So Taylor shook his head, " No sorry I don't know anything about them.. Only thing I know they where after a dragon.. But that's crazy right? Things like that can't be real. Though they thought it was real enough to kill our principal in cold blood in front of all of us..." Taylor said as he started to shiver as he recalled that day. It had been the worst day... But also the best, that is when he met all the others and the Guardians where born. For the first time Taylor had real friends he could count on.

"After a dragon ya say? Well I guess that makes sense for a group calling themselves the 'Dragon Slayers'. Though they're probably not as crazy as ya think, or haven't you seen the news? Pretty sure there was a dragon doing some heroic stuff on there not too long ago." The imp said, letting Taylor know that he wasn't buying everything the teen was saying. It was kind of fun pretending to be a cop and calling out the human on these things.

"It is pretty weird that they'd think that a dragon was hiding out here though. I wonder what made them get that idea?" Rend thought he was doing a decent job impersonating the cop so far, but he still hadn't gotten anything useful from this kid yet. The boss would not be happy if Rend walked out of here empty handed. It was time to stop dancing around the real subject he came here to discuss. Rend pulled out a cellphone and loaded up a video, it was taken by Hopeslayer's drones but there was no need to share that info with Taylor. He turned the phone so that Taylor could see the little video screen on it before he tapped the play button on the touch screen.

The scene showed Taylor and Fox together.

"Not a dragon to be sure, but you mind telling me about this little fellow?" Rend asked, letting the video play on the phone for Taylor.

Taylor stayed silent cop spoke about the dragon and said one had been spotted around the city. Yeah it was Taji.. But Taylor was not going to say anymore then he has. But he had a feeling the man was not completely trusting him. He was fine with that though.. He had no reason to tell this man anymore. The young boy blinked when the man pulled out a cell phone turning it on. Great now what? Taylor thought as he waited. When he then showed what was on it Taylor blinked trying not to looked shocked that a police man had such a video. This was to random... Why would he have this and be asking about a kitsune that had been with him?


The only things around at that time where the drones that where chasing them.. Something was not right here.. And the way the video was... For now though it was best he stayed calm. " I don't see how this relates to the school case sir.." Taylor not denying anything but was not gonna say anything about the video ether.

"Well it's obvious that little guy with you in the video isn't human, and from what intel we've gathered on the group that attacked the school we know they attack non-humans. Even if he isn't human he's still a citizen and thus our responsibility to protect." Rend lied easily to Taylor, tucking the phone away and out of sight again.

"Also since you obviously have some contact with this fellow, well we think that the people who attacked the school may try targeting you." It was a plausible enough fib. What Rend really wanted to know was the purple kitsune's name and location. After all that was what the boss really wanted to know. Frankly the imp didn't really care, but this was all VERY important to the boss and he didn't want to disappoint him... because that would not be pleasant for Rend.

"Any information you can provide us might be useful. Names, locations, anything at all." The possessed cop continued to play the nice guy for the time being, hoping to coax something useful out of Taylor.
