When Malady spoke, Damian's face grew pale as if he'd seen a ghost. He knew exactly what she'd do and it was definitely not his idea of fun. Trying to avoid Malady's gaze, he muttered something under his breath in Italian, knowing they wouldn't understand it. A moment later he spoke just loud enough for Malady and the others to hear, "...my sister....it was my sister that we saw....". His choice of words was careful. He had omitted the part about the fact Ashe had sent him to pull Lena out from the clutches of his sister just as he had chosen to omit the fact that he had actually fought her and how there was some strange commander that was acting like a traitor and could actually be a useful ally. Malady had wanted to know who might show up at her door, and Damian had answered. He had no way of knowing that his sister had acquired a new lackey or that said lackey was already there among them.
Lena wasn't exactly shocked that there had been a tracking spell. It was always a possibility when dealing with spellweavers. She glanced over at Fane and Taji when they both were ready for a fight. Was everything nowadays resolved by war? Its the exact reason she hated most people but then again there was something odd about the situation. For a moment, she closed her eyes and sniffed the air. "Malady...do you have a cat?" Her question seemed random and out of place at the moment but nonetheless her expression told Malady it required an answer. And it required one now.
Marrok had been sitting in his spot the entire time, making no sound but listening to the entire conversation. He found the fact there was yet another spellcaster here amusing but at the same time problematic. For him, the situation was a complete loss it seemed especially since he'd been sniffed out by a dragon. With a flick of his tail, the black cat faded from existence as if he'd never been there. It wasn't a spell. It was one of his gifts. Though he appeared to have vanished from the room, he was still there only unseen to the eye. As a cat, he could learn more. And all he had been asked to do was learn of the situation and distract the group until reinforcements arrived. Orders were orders and he had no intention of angering the commander or the general.
