What is a Slime? Well, slime can be alot of things which describe a sickly and disgusting liquid-like substance. It is also used frequently on Nickelodeon with such shows like "Slime Time" and others. However, in this case, Slimes are intelligent amorpheous creatures made of a liquid-like substance. Most Slimes do not have a defined shape and look alot like jello molds. Morpha happens to be an alien slime from space, her slimes are unique in that they can alter their shape and form with enough practice. Some even learn how to replicate DNA which allows them to shapeshift even further.
It's believed that most slimes do not leave their given homeworld due to living conditions most slimes prefer. Morpha's home planet for example, is a vast swamp-like planet where most slimes choose to live due to the hot and moist air, plus the frequent rainfalls that helps maintain the large population. Inspite popular belief, Slimes do develope tools and means to design spacecraft but very little else. Most slimes are quite content to float peacefully in the waters of their planet. It is unknown how a society of Slimes works, but it is thought to be loosely run with very little government due to the little requirement to sustain a slime. The only "ruling" form of government is that of a monarchy, ran by a "Royal Slime" of a certain color. Genders are normally non-existant in the slime world, the only exceptions being that of choice by the slime in question. Morpha for example, prefers a female gender but can change to a male at any time she wishes.

Types of Slimes
- Liquid Slime: The most basic and most commonly encountered slime in the galaxy. Liquid slimes are just that, intelligent liquid-like lifeforms. They are thought to be the first slimes in terms of evolution, as they share most of the traits of all the other slimes. They range from various hues of blue to a clear color. Liquid Slimes are capable of sustaining themselves by sucking up other liquids and absorbing any nutrients they find. They also are known to feed on micro-organisms that are similar to Plankton here on Earth. However, their digestive systems are very slow when dealing with solid objects hence why Liquid Slimes stick to an all liquid diet.
- Bubble Slime: A close relative of the Liquid Slimes, and thought to be second link in the Slime evolution chain. Bubble Slimes are the slimiest of the slimes, even by OTHER slime standards. They are not as common as their blue cousins, but are commonly found on heavy marsh or swamp-like planets. Bubble Slimes come in various hues of green and get their name for their tendency to bubble when laying around. Bubble Slimes like their blue cousins have all of the basic abilities involving digestion. However, because of their environment, Bubble Slimes can also replicate liquids and DNA in addition to absorbing it.
Bubble Slimes because of their exposure to other swamp-life, are prone to picking up any number of diseases. And while the Slime itself is unharmed by the diseases, other species could be prone to infection. Many Bubble Slimes develop a system to remove these diseases by digesting the germs, thereby absorbing the DNA which allows them to remove any further infection of the same disease. Of course, the slime has to be aware of the infection either way. Morpha did spend some time on her planet and she appears to be clean of these diseases after she left. - Magma Slime: One of the rarer slimes encountered due to the unique living conditions of their prefered planets. Magma Slimes as their name implies, are highly resistant to high temperatures. Slimes are typically resistent to heat as is, but Magma Slimes are impervious to incredibly high heat. They make their homes on volcanic planets or otherwise incredibly hot planets even by Slime standards. Magma Slimes feed off of rock for nourishment which leads many to believe that Metal Slimes are a distant relative of Magma Slimes. Magma Slimes are also the only slimes which grow "shells" of cooled magma, giving them a more physical shape then any of their other cousins. Magma Slimes enjoy hot lava bathes and some have been known to be able to spew fire from their "mouths."
- Metal Slime: A VERY rare species of slime which have incredibly fast digestive systems. As their name implies, Metal Slimes are composed of a metallic-like liquid. Metal Slimes come in a variety of colors, the only difference is that their bodies all have a metallic sheen. It is unclear HOW the Metal Slimes began, but nowadays these slimes digest solid objects primarily in order to absorb plenty of iron. Metal Slimes get most of their nurishment from- you guessed it, metal. Metal Slimes are the densest of their cousins, being virtually indestructable to physical damage. Metal Slimes do not have a prefered type of planet, and they are so few that it's thought there is no such thing as a planet of Metal Slimes.
- Slush Slimes: ANOTHER species of slime that is very rarely encountered due to the fact that most if not all slimes have an adverse vulnerability to cold temperatures. Some more so then others, but generally all slimes avoid cold temperatures whenever possible. Slush Slimes however, have evovled to a point where their bodies contain a copious amount of salt. They are also direct relatives of Liquid Slimes, but they generally live in oceans or other places with a supply of salt. Because they're relatives of the Liquid Slimes, they come in various pale hues of blue, clear, even green at times. Slush Slimes are not really a unique species, but rather a specific type based on the environment. The different in appearance is that a Slush Slimes will have bits of permafrost or bits of ice floating around in their body.
A Bubble Slime for example can become a Slush Slime as long as it keeps enough salt in it's body. Slush Slimes are the only slimes capable of surviving on icy planets. - Royal Slimes: Royal Slimes are the "rulers" of their kind, and there are different ways for a slime to get this title. For every Slime planet, there is at least one King or Queen Slime depending on the planet. The most common way for a Royal Slime to be made is by absorbing the juices of a very special plant that briefly changes the color of other living creatures. However, when a slime absorbs the juices of this plant, they gain that color indefinately. So it is easy to assume that a Royal Slime is always made when a Slime discovers this plant on a planet. Royal Slimes come in a vast array of colors depending on the special plant they absorb, but a basic rule of thumb is that a Royal Slime is always a darker shade of whatever color it's bretheren is. A dark blue for Liquids, dark green for Bubbles, and a dark grey for Metals. Other methods for a slime to become a Royal Slime are unknown.
