Oligatory Note: This data is prone to change on my whimsy.
Everything you wanted to know about Symphonians but didn't know how to ask
Symphonians are not a single species, but are rather a series of similar species in a similar manner to the various "races" of humans. But instead of just having different accents, appearances, skin color, and cultures, each species is much different from eachother.
The most numerous as is stated in Razuel's bio are the "Vocaloids" or even "Vocalists" in human terms. These Symphonians are the most human-like in appearance and have VERY well developed vocal cords which allow them to use sound offensively in the form of sound blasts or defensively via vibrating their throats to emit dense soundwaves from their body. Nicknamed "Star Elf" for their angular and elf-like faces, Vocalists are well known to being able to open their mouths much wider then any other humanoid being. They are also capable of breathing in a copious amount of air via their powerful lungs for those very long ballets. Other then their faces, and chest, Vocalists are the most humanoid of their race.
Vocalists in addition to sound blasts/waves can also mimic or copy any sound they hear via their vocal cords. It's believed the reason they are the most numerous is because of so many years of interbreeding among other species, the Vocalists' ability to replicate other sounds with their voices is the main reason they've been so successful in getting mates.
The deadlist Symphonian in their history is that of a "Siren" who brought about The Age of Silence.
The next species of Symphonians are the "Trumpateers" which as their name may imply, these Symphonians are capable of "trumpet" or "horn" sounds used in various kinds of music. They look more like humans with elephant-like faces, especially because of their "trunk" like noses which also doubles as a working instrument. Trumpat sound blasts are the most accurate because of their trunks. They still have the pointed elf/bat-like ears as Vocalists.
The next species are the Drumbas, which as their name implies are capable of creating "drum" like beats with their bodies. They are comically overweight, but they're not out of shape. Their bodies need the girth so that they can create the various kinds of beats commonly used in Symphonian songs. Because beat is incredibly important in any Symphonian song, Drumbas are normally regarded highly. Because of their added weight, Drumbas have eight toes each, each of which are alittle bigger then a human's toe to better carry their weight.
Because of their size, Drumbas are the most strongest physically of the race. Not just in raw muscle, but also in durability.
Chirplits are a strange species of Symphonians. They are the shortest of the Symphonians, growing to the size of a small child and they lack the well developed "abilities" of the other symphonians. However, because of Chirplits' voices are usually so squeaky or... "alien" they are popular back-up singers in modern symphonian tunes. Their builds are strangely similar to Vocalists, except smaller in scale which makes them incredibly adorable.
As with every race, there do exist cases of interbreeding which results in... very interesting results. And there also exists "specialists" which have either learned or have the natural talent for a specific genre of sound. A Drumba for example, may instead of just being able to make the typical drum noises, also have the ability to replicate the tin sound of a drum set. Or a Vocalist may have the ability to "tune" his voice and give it a cool little sound.
Symphonian Society
In addition to their unique abilities, Symphonians have also created a very unique culture centered around music. They're so sensetive to music, that a Symphonian's mood can go from happy to sad, or angry to calm just depending on the song alone. The fact is, since they had to adapt to using sound navigate their world, it's just evolved to a point that music or sound is their best method of communication.
Symphonians are well known to be party animals, for the lack of a better term and the louder or better the music, the harder they party. Again, it's not because they're naturally like that, it's just the sounds having a psychological effect on them. Symphonian "parties" are actually very common on their world, since the ancient times of their history, Symphonians have always used music and dance to socialize or even find mates.
