Name: Johnathan O'Connor
Age: Approx. 34. Real age unknown
Race: Human
Powers:
Convincing: While Johnathan has no real powers and few skills that would help him in a fight, he has a college education in psychology. He makes much use of that information, using the way people think in order to break down their guard and convince them that he is trustworthy. This skill does not always work, however, as it is based on using an unsuspecting, and often less intelligent minds. If he were to try to persuade a person who knew his tricks, there would be next to no chance of it working.
No conscience: Johnathan is unable to tell right from wrong. This disability allows him to conduct his less than benevolent activities without having a moral breakdown, which likely would cause him to become more suspicious.
Date of birth: Unknown
Home: Jump city
Alliance: None, but he is much more likely to go after a hero or normal citizen than a villain.
Relationship: Johnathan used to have a wife and son, but his actions caused her to run away, hiding their baby anonymously away in an orphanage.
Appearance: Johnathan's skin-and-bones body stands about six and a half feet tall, ending with a head full of orange hair. He wears a pair of fake glasses over his cold, calculating blue eyes. His attire consists of a three piece suit and a large briefcase, in which he holds a multitude of items. Among these possessions are many psychological tests which he uses casually as he attempts to find out how his possible test subjects think.
Personality: Johnathan is a sociopath. A person incapable of seeing other human beings as having feelings like he does. This causes him to lead a double life. In one, he acts how he people expect him to act. Kind, courteous, giving, etc. When the metaphorical mask comes off, however, he shows his true nature as being a calculating, careless, and spiteful man who desires to delve deeper into the minds of people, learning more about how they think no matter the cost.
History: Johnathan O'Connor was born in Dublin, Ireland to a pair of loving parents. He grew up better than most despite the hard economic problems during the 80s. He attended a public school, a small place filled with tightly knit groups and no space for the quiet kid. Johnathan accepted his situation, and began to enjoy being left out, preferring instead the comforts of a darkened corner as he watched the other kids. This behavior soon caused an irregularity in his thinking, as he began to see other kids as not having feelings, thoughts, or emotions like him. This irregularity grew as he got older until it became a serious problem. He spent a majority of his spare time finding out how other people thought. His studying caused him to enroll at a local college, where he received a degree in psychology. This knowledge did not stop his thirst for information, however, as soon he began to bring people to his house, keeping them there, unharmed physically, but less than sound emotionally and mentally as he conducted a multitude of tests on them.
It was not long before one of his victims was able to escape, contact the police, and make Johnathan have to sneak out of the country. When he arrived at his destination, America, he found himself in Jump City. He worked on rebuilding his life, finding a good paying job and a woman that he would make his wife. His mind was still plagued with the thoughts of a sociopath, however, as he continued his experiments, forcing people into his basement where they would stay quietly inside of a room hidden behind a wall and a refrigerator. Shortly after the birth of his son, his wife found the room by mistake, seeing the people calmly waiting for her husband to come back and find out more about them. She ran off, unable to handle the realization. For fear of her child, she left him in an orphanage before she disappeared. Johnathan, after not seeing or hearing anything of his wife for several days, decided that she must have found out about his actions. He left his home shortly after, buying a new one under a different name.
Once the widespread aggression between the humans and meta-humans began to pick up, Johnathan found it easier to get away with more risky projects. He decided to make his subjects do things for him about the city: steal, rob, abduct. The material rewards from these actions were of little use to Johnathan, who cared not for looking better than the people he saw as little more than animals. The real purpose of these crimes was to see how far people would go with a mere suggestion.
As of yet, Johnathan continues to lead a double life. He has not yet been caught by the authorities, and as such, he continues to pretend that he is just a simple business man until he can find somebody alone and vulnerable, then he sheds his facade, showing himself to be the unstable man that he really is.
