Start of something more? ( Taji)

"That all? You really do need to get out of the base a bit more often then. Perhaps you'd like to come on patrol with me? I mean it would be nice to have someone I can count on nearby in case I get in over my head." Eric said, giving Taji an easy way out of the rut that she seemed to be in lately. Of course he meant what he said too, as it would be really nice to have someone from the team nearby while he was on patrol in case something big came up. That was always something that he feared might happen, and at the very least this would alleviate that threat in his mind.

"Plus it never hurts to get a little real world training in there. After all there's only so much the training room in the base can do for you." It felt nice to be able to talk with Taji, and he figured it would be nice to keep doing so. If she came with him each day on patrol then that was a win-win situation in his book. They could probably even teach each other a few things about fighting thanks to their different techniques.

"Though we'll have to wait till the day after tomorrow... after all it's a new moon tomorrow so I'll be staying at base." Eric mentioned, referring to the little condition of the spell that made him mostly human. Every new moon he was stuck as a full on cat for twenty four hours. He could still talk and such during that time, but having no thumbs made it awfully hard to fight crime during that time.

Taji's eyes grew wide when Eric asked her to come along on portal with him just to get out of the base more. Taji bit her lip and reminded silent, it was very tempting as she would like to get out more but she knew she would be a magnet for trouble as well... Asi it seemed nothing but trouble always followed her. Even being out here right now something could happen.. Taji then caught herself starting to think negatively. She then stopped herself as she looked over at Eric, every time she looked at him she could see how kind and strong he was. Out of all them he has smashed the most robots.. Mean while most of the time she ran.. the only time she really stood up and fought was when Hopeslayer himself was there.. And he ended up taking a scale from her.. "I.. I will think about it ok? So how much father is it Eric?" Taji asked starting to get a little nervous as they got farther away from the safety of the base.

"Sure, think it over. No need to rush things." Eric said casually, even though he really hoped that Taji would take him up on the offer later. After all it wasn't good to be cooped up inside all the time, and they couldn't exactly protect the innocent if they were hiding away themselves.

"Anyway the place is just around the corner and about a half a block down the road." Eric informed Taji, leading the way all the while. He did pause as they passed a garden shop that happened to have some little sprouts for sale out front. One of the containers had some catnip growing in it, and even in his mostly human form Eric couldn't help but stop. He shook his head and quickly came back to his senses after only a moment.

"Uh, sorry about that. Catnip and all... Let's keep going." Eric picked up the pace for a tad until they were away from the herb that simply made him feel all awkward.

Why... Why was she such a coward? She was a dragon something that should be fearless.. But then she was also human... And never being around her own kind of course she would act more human... Taji looked at Eric but stayed silent, she wished she was more like him.. So kind and brave.. She had a feeling he did not know the meaning of fear.. Kind of embarrassing now that she thought about it... A dragon who was a coward and a cat that was braver then she was.. Well Kitty Knight rather.. Taji then blinked when she realized what she was thinking and started to blush. She then looked down and saw they where still holding hands... Taji's blush just deepened, as another thought came to her. She was going on a date... She had never been on a date this would be her firsr one ever in her life!! Though soon her thoughts where derailed when Eric came to a stop in front of a flower shop. When she saw why with her free hand she covered her mouth as she tried to hold back giggles. Taji always thought it was cute when catnip got Eric. Taji then started to relax as she them smiled for the first time in a long while. Yeah I need to relax and have fun.." Taji thought to herself as she then gently squeezed Eric's hand and smiled at him. "Ok, I can't wait." she said as she looked at Eric.

The rest of the trip passed without incident, with the two friends soon arriving at a little Mexican restaurant called South of the Border. "Ah this is the place. See? There's that weird vegetable with the hat." Eric said with a grin as he pointed at the sign with his free hand, the large jalapeno pepper on the side was wearing a sombrero and smiling a goofy grin. Eric finally let got of Taji's hand, but only so he could open the door for her and hold it open.

"After you." He said with a smile, acting the gentleman his knightly upbringing had instilled in him.

Taji smiled when they came to the Mexican restaurant. When Eric pointed out the sign Taji could not help but laugh a little. It was a funny looking sign but it was cute as well. When the Kitty Knight opened the door for her Taji smiled and gave a nod, " Thank you Eric." She said as she then walked in. Once inside Taji looked around, it was a small place but it still looked great. And now more then ever Taji was looking forward to spending time with Eric and trying out new foods. And soon a waiter came and lead them to their seats and gave Taji and Eric menu's before leaving. Taji then opened her's and started to look though it. " Hmm All these look so good I don't know what to pick.. What do you suggest Eric?" Taji asked looking over at him with a smile.

Eric sat down and flipped through the menu a bit, his ears twitching as he listened to Taji.

"Er well I haven't tried everything here but I really liked the fish tacos." Eric replied, blushing a bit. That was to be expected though as any type of fish was a sure way to make him purr with delight. He was always the first to suggest some type of seafood for dinner whenever the team couldn't agree on what to eat for a meal. Yet despite that he always seemed to get a bit flustered or embarrassed when he embraced his more feline instincts and inclinations in front of others.

"When Fox brought me here he seemed to enjoy everything, so I doubt that there's anything bad on the menu." Eric added with a laugh, recalling how his friend had ordered practically everything on the menu and devoured it all with ease. Fox certainly had a healthy appetite and Eric was always in awe of how much food the little kitsune could pack away without ever seeming to gain weight.

"Want to order an appetizer? I didn't get a chance to really taste the one I ordered when I came here with Fox." The Kitty Knight suggested with a laugh, deciding to let Taji decide on an appetizer they could share.

Taji listened as nodded as Eric spoke saything that all the food must be good as Fox ate everything. When Eric then asked about appetizer's Taji could not help but giggle a little. Yeah she could see Fox getting carried away and eating the appetizer's before Eric even got a chance." Sure, appetizer's sound good and you can order anything really I'm not picky." Taji said, the reason she was not picky for when she was on the run she did not really have many choices when it came to food. Now she could eat anything she wanted. It was almost to good to be true.. She had a place to stay and friends she could stay with. Besides the threat of Hopeslayer and the Dragon Slayers this was the first time in Taji's life before her parents where killed she was happy and felt safe. Taji then looked at menu looking at the food. Ugh it all looked so good but she was only going to pick one.. Though soon her eyes landed on a meal called Mexican Penne. It looked good and it was on the cheaper side as well. Just then the waiter came back and Taji looked up at her," I would like the Mexican Penne please and some root beer please." She said and handed over the menu. The water wrote that down and then turned to Eric, " What would you like sir?" She asked with a smile.

Eric smiled at the waitress and with some slight embarrassment stated his order, "I'll have the large order of fish tacos and a root beer as well." He just barely managed to keep himself from ordering a large milk to drink, not wanting to totally give in to his feline stereotypes... even if they were totally true when it came to him. He didn't hand the menu over just yet, instead he pointed at the appetizers and added "I'd also like to get a platter of the jalapeno poppers." That done he handed his menu to the waitress who jotted down the order.

"Alright, I'll go put in your order and the appetizer should be out shortly." The waitress replied before walking away, returning shortly with the drinks for Eric and Taji before going to wait on the other tables in her section.

"This is nice. Who knew that I'd get to try so many different types of food in my life? Heh heh!" Eric started off, trying to make some small talk. He never felt like he was very good at it, but he was feeling a bit chatty even though he didn't really have anything in particular on his mind. Eric simply wanted to make sure that his friend could have a nice, normal, dinner outside their base for a change and wanted to keep her mind off the people that might be hunting for her even now. Heck, those same people were probably after him too... a cat given human form thanks to a witch was hardly normal after all.
