Start of something more? ( Taji)

Eric had just gotten back from a patrol around the city, and while he'd been looking for clues to Hopeslayer he had come up empty... again. At least he had stopped a few minor incidents though, mostly just thugs and petty thieves. He hadn't even run into any super villains, not that he relished going up against one of those any time soon. Still helping out the innocent when the police weren't around was fulfilling in it's own right.

He went through the usual security checks of their base before strolling into the main room, flopping down on the couch there as his armor vanished back to the bracer on his arm. The Kitty Knight, as most had some to call him, let out a sigh as he looked up at the ceiling to stare at nothing.

"No leads yet again... This is getting us nowhere. I wonder if the rest of the team had any luck finding anything at all." Eric said to himself, merely thinking out loud. He rubbed his eyes and sat up, wondering if anyone else was in the base at the moment. Fox obviously wasn't around or the little fellow would already have tackled Eric by now and gave him a hug. He let out a laugh as he thought of the friendly little kitsune, his mind wandering to the other members of their team. At least he knew they were all okay as none of their communicators had called in with an emergency or anything. Apparently it was a slow day for all of them.

Taji had been in the base for a while now mostly napping on her bed. She had been training and out on the streets so long it had taken its toll. She then slowly opened her eyes and sat up in bed. She then gave a small yawn as she rubbed her eyes. She looked around the bed room and saw that Sarah and Amara where not there. So they must be out somewhere.. Taji then got out of bed and changed into some new clothes before leaving and heading up stars. As she did she heard foot steps and a voice. so someone was here after all. Taji then followed the sounds till she came to the Room Eric was in. He looked stressed or upset. Must be with all that has been happening she could not blame him.. With all these slayers running around now Taji really had to watch her step... She then entered the room with a smile. "Hello Eric." She said a she walked over to him.

"Oh, hello Taji. It's nice to see you. I'm afraid I haven't had any luck digging up new leads on Hopeslayer, but at least I was able to stop some minor crimes tonight." Eric said with a smile as Taji came over toward him. He knew that she was having more troubles than most on their team, what with being a target of both the slayers that had recently come to town and the villain Hopeslayer as well. He couldn't even guess what Hopeslayer might want with Taji, but it was easy enough to guess what the slayers wanted to do.

"So how was your day?" Eric asked with a smile, already feeling a bit more at ease since coming home.

Taji nodded when Eric said he could not find anything on Hopeslayer. It was understandable as Hopeslayer was very good at hiding and only sent robots out to do his biding.. Well besides that one time Taji was able to whack him hard with her tail when he was using some sort of magic... If it where not for Malady and her sister Justice who knows what would have happened. Though Malady and Justice still had that stone.. So Taji hoped they where going to be alright.. Though she had yet to tell the others about that fight as she kinda jumped in without thinking. "Its ok Eric no need to stress over it.. besides we do have help the Titans remember? Taji said as she placed her hand on Eric's shoulder smiling trying to cheer up the kitty knight. " And well I have been in here like I have been for the last few weeks. So same old same old really...." Taji said, and it was the fight she had face to face with Hopeslayer is the reason she has not left the base. As she knew Hopeslayer had taken a scale and feared if she left the base he would some how find her with it.. And with Fane's magic protecting the base from any magic used to spy or look for people she just felt safer..

Eric's ears twitched as he realized that what Taji said was true, she had been cooped up in the base for the past few weeks. If anyone had it toughest out of the bunch it was probably Taji since it seemed almost everyone was gunning for from the two major villain groups in the city. Maybe it was time for him to try and cheer her up a bit?

"How would you like to go and get something to eat Taji? Just the two of us. I mean you've been stuck at base more than usual and I think a little fresh air might help ya out. Don't worry about the bill, this will be my treat." Eric said with a grin. There was no use fretting over their lack of leads on Hopeslayer now, so they might as well enjoy a night out. After all Hopeslayer had been strangely quiet as of late, and even if that was worrisome it wasn't like they knew where he was to do anything about it.

"Fox showed me a few nice places to eat. So what do you say Taji? Care to accompany me to dinner?" Eric did a bit of flourish as he bowed slightly and extended his hand, much like he might do to a high born lady back in his home time.

Eric's offer seemed to out of the blue Taji had no idea what to say, was Eric just trying to be nice? or was he asking her out on a date? The mere thought of that made Taji blush slightly. As she had never been on a date before.. Always on the run from the slayers she never had time for a normal life.. So she never had a boy friend or guy friend.. It was being part of this team she really got the feel of a real family. Taji stared at Eric as he spoke and when he bowed that just made Taji's blush darken. Well... It would be nice to get out of the base for once... And she knew she would be safe with Eric he is a very strong Knight after all even if he feel out of his time and into this one he adapted very well. Taji then smiled nodding her head, she reached out and took Eric's hand. "Yes, I would love to." Taji said softly.

Eric smiled as Taji accepted his hand, giving it a little squeeze as he stood back up.

"Excellent! There's this little place with some really tasty food, though it's pretty spicy. I forget what type of food it is... I mean there's just so much variety in this time that it's almost overwhelming at times. Er, well anyway I forget the name of the place but the sign has their weird little red vegetable I think with a big ridiculous hat." Eric was talking about the Mexican resturant that Fox had taken him to once. The spiciness of the food had taken him off guard at first but he had actually enjoyed it after his initial shock.

"Anyway, let's go ahead and head over there. I know the way well enough as my patrol goes by there sometimes." Eric led the way, still holding onto Taji's hand. For some reason he felt really happy that she'd accepted his offer... more happy than he'd have thought he would.

Taji followed after Eric as he lead the way holding her hand, Taji could not help but stare at their hands. Though she forced herself to look back up at Eric as he spoke of the place he wanted to take her. Taji smiled, spicy food huh? Well as a dragon she loved spicy food it was just rare for her to come by. So she was for sure going to eat a lot tonight, Though not to much as she did not want to waste Eric's money. When they came to the door that led out of the base Taji's heart started to race a little as her fear started to kick back in. Though she would just fight it.. As she was tired of living in fear.. And that she did not want to worry Eric or she may end up having to tell him about the battle she was in.. " Sounds like a great place Eric, I can't wait." Taji said trying to act normal.

"So were in the base the whole day? I have to admit that it was rather nice out, though that only seemed to encourage some minor thugs to start making trouble." Eric said as they left the base, the doors sealing behind them till another member of the Guardians should arrive there.

"Not really much to it though. Just a couple purse snatchers, a few gang members, that sort of thing. Didn't even see hide or hair of anything bigger. Ah but I'm boring you with this probably." As they made their way down the sidewalk Eric couldn't help but grin. After all it wasn't every night that he got to simply hang out with one of his friends one on one. He didn't realize it but he was still holding Taji's hand and would likely keep holding it till they reached the restaurant.

"So anyway, how was your day Taji?" He asked, genuinely interested in how her day had gone.

Taji blinked when they went outside, it has been a little when she last been out side. The fresh are felt good, better then the are in the base. As Taji took in a deep breath and exhaled with a smile. Yeah she had stayed in there way to long... And now she longed for the skys once more but knew that would only cause trouble.. As they walked Taji noticed that Eric had not let go of her hand, again that made Taji blush but she did not let go as she was being led by Eric. And listened as he spoke about his day and hw he had to deal with some thugs. Though once again he asked about her day, there was niot much to tell really... " Well.. I did not really do much.. Just cleaned a little here and there worked out in the training room and watch some TV.." Taji said telling Eric about her somewhat boring day.
