Personal Background
Family Members: Unknown
Place of Origin: Earth, Germany
History: Much of Sirrus' background has been lost, either by the passage of time or intervention of his father. Sirrus comes from a long line of people who have devoted themselves to understanding, and worshipping the entity known as Death. Far from a suicidal cult, Sirrus' family has witnessed Death manifest as a mortal throughout the ages. They worship this entity as a god among gods, and seek to learn and understand their existence. Sirrus' family has since, become Death's 'children' so to speak. Not yet equals, but they had the potential to grow and become more on equal terms.
Sirrus was born some time before World War Two in Germany, the exact location is forgotten. Since before he was born, Sirrus' soul was forfeit. As part of an agreement with Death, Sirrus' father offered his soul into service of Death. Death accepted under the condition that the contract would only take effect once Sirrus died, giving him a chance to live a long life before having to enter into service.
It was different growing up in a family who worshipped Death as a god. Some members of his extended family were practicioners of Necromancy, others devoted themselves to spiritual power. Needless to say, it was different in some regards, but was otherwise typical for a child growing up. But Sirrus never got to live out a long peaceful life as was originally intended. World War Two began, and Sirrus found himself enlisted in the army.
Only members of Sirrus' family know exactly what transpired with Sirrus during that war. Only they know of the hell he went through. But what is generally known, is that Sirrus was killed in action and met Death face to face for the first time during that war. When he met Death, Sirrus learned what his father had done and fell into greater despair until Death took his soul out of mercy then claiming payment for Sirrus' father's contract.
Sirrus was then given a choice, either remain with her, or return to the mortal realm and act as one of her agents in the mortal realm. He decided to accept her terms and returned to the mortal realm with an addition to the contract. Sirrus returned as a kind of Grim Reaper who also went after criminals and the 'parasites' of society. He's effectively a vigilante who occasionally directly acts on behalf of Death.

Powers:
- Death's Chosen: Since birth, Sirrus' soul belongs to Death, in whatever shape, form, or aspect it takes. When he died for the very first time, this contract with Death took effect, and granted him immortality. That does not infact mean Sirrus' body is indestructible. Rather, he will 'regenerate' and return to the mortal realm after his body fully regenerates. Simply put, Sirrus can die... again, and again, and again. As long as Sirrus' soul remains in Death's service, he will NEVER know eternal rest.
- Wings: In addition to the immortality, Sirrus is also granted the ability to sprout a pair of large, black feathered wings. In addition to flight, the feathers of his wings contain magical properties which makes them impervious to flame, ice, or lightning.
- Supernatural Awareness: Another 'gift' of Death allows Sirrus to see, hear, and interact with spirits of all kind, or observe other supernatural phenomena. Part of his day to day business involves putting spirits to rest, helping them cross over and join Death. This unfortunately also means spirits can interact with Sirrus aswell.
- Telepathy: Sirrus can hear the thoughts of aswell as transmit his thoughts to the minds of any living or formerly living creature.
- Wings: In addition to the immortality, Sirrus is also granted the ability to sprout a pair of large, black feathered wings. In addition to flight, the feathers of his wings contain magical properties which makes them impervious to flame, ice, or lightning.
- Pennance Stare: A very powerful and FEARED ability granted to a select few. After dying and meeting Death for the first time, Sirrus was given the option on the condition he would only use the stare against those who rightfully deserved it. Once activated, Sirrus' eyes become pitch black pools that reflects no light. If he locks eyes with the intended target while the stare is activated, the victim will experience the pain they have caused everyone in their lifetime for eternity in an instant. To them, it would have felt like an eternity, but in reality, it lasts for only an instant.
- Soul Manipulation: Sirrus has learned how to gather, harness, and control spiritual forces. At a basic level, he can manipulate spiritual energies around him for a variety of purposes. Chiefly, Sirrus can manifest this spiritual energy in order to form constructs of varying size and shape, such as a shield of spiritual energy, a spirit sword, or bullet.
- Spiritual Infusion: Another application of Spiritual Energy is transferring spirits into the bodies of the living, or inanimate objects. Simply put, the spirit assumes control over the object and can do some freaky things with it depending on what Sirrus wants them to do with it. If they're applied to something more basic like an element, that spirit becomes an Elemental which serves Sirrus till it's destruction; the power of the Elemental is determined by the power of the spirit used.
When applied to a living person, the spirit will attempt to take control of their mind and body. This has many uses and can range from Sirrus trying to pry information out of someone, or turn enemies into temporary allies. Like with Elementals, the spirit's ability to control the victim depends on the spirit's power beforehand, in addition to the victim's own willpower. - Spiritual Magics: An offshoot of Spiritual Infusion, but for offensive purposes. By using the power of the spirits, Sirrus can convert spiritual energy into different spells during combat. This is usually done by means of a chant, followed by hand gestures and finished with the end result of the chant. The power of these spells seem to be dependant on different factors, with the most obvious factor being the spiritual energy behind the spell.

- Multi-lingual: Sirrus may not be the oldest person on earth, but he's certainly had plenty of time to read and study. He can speak German, French, Spanish, and English fluently, and is still bettering his vocabulary in other languages.
- Hand-to-hand: Another skill Sirrus has studied in-depth over the years is how to defend himself in unarmed combat.
- Cooking: Unlike most forms of immortality, Sirrus still needs to eat and has due to this fact, learned how to make a pretty tasty meal.
Equipment: - Blood Scythe: Sirrus' personal weapon, a magical scythe capable of slicing through steel or flesh like a hot knife through butter. It's magical properties also make it virtually indestructible.
- Grim Veil: Typically worn while helping restless spirits cross over, this article of clothing completely masks Sirrus' pressence from mortal senses. It's like he simply doesn't exist while he's wearing it, as he cannot be seen, heard, or smelled by most mortal beings. Mediums or others who are 'sensetive' to the supernatural appear to be the only ones who can detect him.
- Cyber-Purgatory: Not a weapon, more like a tool Sirrus uses on a day to day basis. This handy laptop not only allows Sirrus 24/7 internet access, regardless of location, but also holds captured evil spirits or souls. The evil spirits or souls of living beings who even in death, refuse to pass on are stored within this mystical laptop's memory as data. It's unknown what exactly happens inside the laptop, though Sirrus seems to write up programs to subject the souls to 'trials' in an attempt to purify them. Until they are purified, there is no other way to escape from the inside.
Weaknesses - Bodily Limitations: As aforementioned, Sirrus will not stay dead. However, his body is still very much mortal and is still affected by nearly all of the mortal perils, except aging.
- Soulless: It's not entirely true that he is soulless. Rather, the contract with Death makes his soul Death's property. Meaning, it exists, but is under normal circumstances, separate from his body. While this has benefits, it also greatly diminishes Sirrus' ability to feel emotion of any kind to the point of almost no emotion. It's possible for Death to loan Sirrus the use of his soul on certain occasions, but this is not very often and also normally on Death's behalf.
- Possession: Because Sirrus' body is normally devoid of a soul, combined with the fact he can interact with spirits, Sirrus is at a greater risk of having his body controlled by a spirit if he isn't careful.
- Taxing Powers: Sirrus doesn't have superhuman stamina. And because of the supernatural origins of his powers, he is greatly limited by how much of his power he can exert before exhaustion kicks in.
- Spellcasting: It takes a moment to call on the spirits for his spells. Depending on how long the chant is, or how fast he can say it, he is left open to attack. Often, he can be in the middle of a spell and have to break it off to avoid an attack.
Psychological Profile
Personality: Sirrus is a jaded, complicated man who if not for the fact lacking a soul diminishes his ability to feel emotion, would be masking emotional scars with icy bitterness, cutting remarks, and a bleak 'acceptance' of the inevitable. Perhaps it is for the best he can't feel emotions in his line of work. Sirrus believes that no matter what you do, no matter how much wealth, or fame you attain, no matter how many lives you touch, it doesn't matter in the end. Life is merely a never ending cycle, interrupted from time to time with death. You could be a great hero in a past era, but EVENTUALLY, your name will be forgotten until it was like you never existed. This is a sad truth Sirrus seems to accept.
And though he can't feel emotion, he still remembers what they were like and tries on occassion to act them out; occasionally creating awkward or embarressing situations. There are also some quirks that manage to pop up from time to time. Sirrus was always shy and socially withdrawn, even before losing his soul. And even now, he is genuinely surprised when someone does something nice for him. Optimism confuses him, but he will gladly die to protect that hope.
Sirrus isn't a bad guy, just alittle gloomy to be around. Because of his lack of emotion, it's hard to uphold his personal values through the scrutiny of cold rational thought. Sirrus does have a sense of right from wrong, and tries to keep the core of his beliefs intact. That is why he chooses not to go around killing innocent people because it's part of who he was and tries to still be today, even though Death isn't picky about what spirits or souls he collects. Call it an act of defiance toward Death holding his soul. Overall, Sirrus' heart is in the right place and he's using the power he was given to try take away some of the darkness in the world before he finally draws his last breath.
Strengths: Fearless, calm under pressure, will to fight
Interests/Habits: Reading, reflecting on life
