Another boring school day. ( Open)

Taji nodded and started to head the way Fox had pointed. Though she did wonder who this Fane was. Well she guessed she would be meeting her soon if she git caught up in this mess... Ugh why couldn't the slayers leave her alone?? She had done nothing wrong... But to them she sinned just by being born.. But she had friends now that are willing to help her... But she did feel bad dragging them into her issues.. If anyone of them ever got badly hurt she would never be able to forgive herself. Taylor said nothing as Taji helped him walk. He knew whoever had sent that bird thing and robots would come after them again.. And no matter what Fox and the others said Taylor knew he was doomed...


Sarah and Fane nodded at Eric when he said to follow "trail of destruction... and feathers" Indeed as they ran they saw blood and feathers leading off somewhere. The two girls followed it till it came to a stop. Sarah looked around but saw no sign of Taylor and Fox. She started to fear the worst that they had been caught or even worse killed.. " Look I see them!" Fane said when Taylor, Fox and Taji came into view. Taylor looked up when he heard Fane's voice and smiled weakly when he saw that Sarah and Fane where ok. Taji was also happy to see that Sarah was ok and this Fane girl as well even though they have never met. " Wow looks like you guys when through hell and back!" Sarah said and got on the other side of Taylor to help give him some more support. Taylor said nothing and just looked down at the ground looking defeated, even though they had won this round. Taji looked at Sarah and smiled and nodded in greating at Fane though when she looked over at Eric she blinked and said nothing.

[Fox]

Fox tilted his head to one side as he laid eyes on Eric, wondering who this stranger was. As if reading the kitsune's mind the young knight strode forward and bowed at the waist toward Taji, Taylor, and Fox. "Greetings. It is a pleasure to meet the friends of Miss Sarah and Miss Fane." He stated in a friendly enough tone. Fox tilted his head to one side at sight of the strange young man, but since he seemed friendly enough Fox decided to introduce himself.

The little kitsune hopped out of Taylor's backpack again, changing back to his normal form once again. That seemed to surprise Eric, who took a half step back. Fox just grinned at the group. "Hi there mister! My name's Fox! It's nice to meet another friend of Sarah and Fane. Did you help them beat those mean robots?" Fox said quickly in his usual hyperactive manner.

"Hello Fox. Please to meet you as well. My name is Eric. Indeed I did help them against those metal men, though I'm still not sure who sent them." Eric said with a smile, patting Fox on the head. Fox grinned and let out a happy murring noise at the attention. "I'm glad that you helped them, you must be strong to beat those metal meanies! Taylor is strong too, he swatted that big bird outta the air like it was nothing. I beat the robots though." Fox said proudly, tails wagging.

"So you two defeated a griffon and several more of those metal men? Impressive!" Eric said, being quite serious. Fox simply beamed at the attention and praise.

Taji blinked when Eric bowed to them. Though she give a smile and small bow of her head. Well he seemed like a gentlemen. " I'm Tara, its very nice to meet you." she said with a smile. Taylor on the other hand said nothing as he looked at the kitty knight. As Fox told everyone what happened the young man looked down and off to the side as if taking no pride in taking down a griffon. If anything he looked scared and very worried. Sarah and Fane looked at Taylor in shock but smiled. " Wow Taylor!! I did not know you where that strong! But I guess having power over wind helps take down a bird brained foe. And you two Fox, you have to tell me how you beat those rust buckets!" Sarah said with a laugh. " That is amazing Taylor, those beasts are hard to beat." Fane said as if she fought a few herself.
Again Taylor said nothing and looked at no one. I may have won that round with the griffon.. But Fox was with me as well... And that thing could come back... I heard it.. Its boss.. whats to talk...." Taylor thought to himself as he ignored the praises everyone was giving him.

[Fox]

Fox was more than happy to brag a little with all the attention focused on him for a moment. "Those metal meanies are tough but they don't seem too smart. I knocked off a couple with some trees, then finished the others with some roses." He noticed the looks had changed to slightly confused but he only giggled in response. "If you go down that street you'll see what I mean." He added in a cryptic fashion, still laughing.

"What of the griffon though? Was it destroyed as well?" Eric asked with concern. "The big birdy? Taylor smacked it into a building and that slowed it down. It couldn't catch up with us but it tried to trick us by saying it's boss wanted to talk with us. Like I'd believe anything that feather head would say after it ripped apart those other bad guys!" Fox commented, referring to how the griffon had shredded the dragon slayers from earlier.

"Other bad guys?" Eric asked, his ears twitching slightly in confusion. "Yeah. There were these weird guys in armor and they seemed to want to hurt a peaceful dragon that lives somewhere in the city. They killed an innocent man at the school and probably would have done more if Sarah and Taylor hadn't stopped them and led them away." Fox added, a little sad that anyone had to die.

"Dragon slayers? Idiots! They still don't realize that not all dragons are bad. Those foolish slayers continue to do harm even to this day with their insane zealotry." Eric said, shaking his head. He'd come across the order even back in the time he'd come from and he never liked them, as they'd hunt down anything that wasn't human and end up stirring up usually peaceful creatures into defending themselves and that usually ended in death all around.

Sarah, Fane, Taji and Taylor listened as Fox and Eric talked. As they did so though Taji and Sarah helped Taylor sit so he could rest a little. When Fox talked about principal being shot a pained expression came to Sarah, Taylor and Taji. the principal was a good man and really did care and try to help every student.. He was like the grandpa you never had. Taji looked down to the point that her bangs covered her eyes. It was her fault the principal was dead and everyone had to go through all this... Tears formed in her eyes and ran down her cheeks. The half dragon then turned away not wanting to look at everyone. Sarah nodded at Eric words, " I agree with you, yeah I'm sure there are a few bad dragons out there but attacking the good ones is just a evil act in its own... And our principal... he was a good man.. Now he is gone.." Sarah said in soft tone as tears started to fill in her eyes. And once again Taylor said nothing but was also tearing up.

[Fox]

"Please don't cry..." Fox said in a more somber tone as he noticed a couple of his friends starting to tear up. The kitsune's ears went a little limp as well. Eric however cleared his throat to get their attention. "Indeed. You shouldn't be crying at a time like this. Though some have fallen this day, at least evil did not win. I fear this city is on the brink of war, and war is no time to be filled with doubt. Instead we should be preparing, as I'm sure our unknown foe is doing likewise. At the very least we should be grateful that it seems that not all of these forces of darkness are allied with one another... yet." Eric's voice rose barely at all in volume but it was filled with conviction.

"I confess I know little of this time, but this is still my world and I will defend the innocent against evil... just as all of you have done today. How many more lives would have been lost had you not intervened when you did? Likely many more. Take comfort in the fact that you saved as many as you could. Also, be proud of defeating these foes this day! We cannot rest now, as I'm sure that evil is plotting new schemes even now... schemes that we may have to stop ourselves to continue to protect those that dwell here. After this war is won, then we may mourn the fallen properly... but not yet." Eric knew he had to pick up the morale of these others. They were strong if they could stand up against griffons and metal men, as well as the Cult of the Slayers and come away nearly unscathed.

"You all won this day. All of you!" Eric stated firmly, pointing at everyone present in turn. "Evil attempted to destroy you today but it failed. Evil can only triumph when the good refuse to act. I see that you all are filled with the light of good. All I ask is that you continue to oppose evil even though your are frightened and unsure. I also pledge myself to aid you all as well when I can." It was a pretty speech, though the kitty knight had never been one to really make them before. After all he had still been a mere knight in training till his dying master had given him the paladin's armor, shield, and hammer. He was just as frightened as they all were, perhaps even more so since he lacked their knowledge of the modern world. He couldn't show that fear or let it affect him though. Hopefully they'd all take some courage from that fact, and together drive back the darkness that threatens to engulf the world.

Everyone but Taylor listened to the kitty Knight's words. He was right they had won this battle Sarah smiled and nodded, Taji turned to look and gave a weak smile. She liked Eric already, And she could not really say anything seeing she was just a bystander this time around. " Yeah your right!! We won this fight and saved countless people who could have been hurt by those slayers, griffon and those robots! And we can do it over again if they come after us again!" Sarah said as she raised a fist and punched the air. Fane smiled and nodded, yes as long as they never gave up they would never truly lose. Taylor slowly got up and kept looking down at the ground. He had won by a fluke... If that had been any other magical creature he would have lost.. He was just lucky that the griffon had a wind weakness.. He had no skill in battle like the others... And he was still learning more about his powers.. Without a word the young boy tried to leave.

[Fox]

"That's what I've been trying to say... only he said it a lot better than I could." Fox said with a grin. Eric smiled to see that his little speech had helped as much as it had, but frowned ever so slightly when he saw Taylor looking so glum and trying to leave.

"Where are you going? This is your victory too." Eric said as he gripped Taylor's shoulder and spun him around. The kitty knight could see that Taylor had a lot more doubt in him then the others... perhaps more fright as well. That was natural, but it was something that might get the young man killed if he didn't get a grip on it. "Taylor, listen to me in this. Your friends think you did a good job. By all accounts you knocked that griffon around something fierce and got it to flee. That took guts and quick thinking! Don't underestimate your own abilities!" He could tell that he was starting to get through, yet the youth seemed stubborn and wanted to hold on to whatever doubts he still possessed. Eric wasn't going to have any of that.

"Listen to me! You may think yourself weak, you might be afraid too. Yet you have a gift to change that. You have a power all your own. It's yours, it's a part of you. Embrace that! You can make a difference and your friends will depend on you." Eric put his other hand on Taylor's other shoulder then, staring at Taylor intensely.

"You can get stronger. You can be a real hero of the ages if you apply yourself and try! Don't run just because you're scared, we're all scared! I'm just a damn cat that drank a magic potion and got gifted some magic armor and a hammer! You can control the very air though, and no one had to make you like that. You were simply born that way! Don't you realize how amazing that is!?! Get stronger, train yourself, and protect those you care about. Evil won't leave you alone if you simply hide, instead it will toy with you like a... well like a cat toys with a mouse." Eric smiled then, showing off his sharp kitty teeth to drive the point home.

"Don't give evil that chance. When it rears it's ugly head you need to be ready to smack it back down again! It you stand idly by then others will suffer, maybe no one you know or care about at first... but evil has a way of spreading and eventually it could come for you, your friends, or even your family. Will you still stand by then as it destroys everything you care about, or will you stand up and fight it with all you've got?" Eric was staring into Taylor's eyes now, firmly holding the youth by the shoulders. Taylor needed to know that he could become stronger if he'd simply stop trying to run away from all his problems. If it took a cat from medieval times to do it, then so be it!

Fane, Sarah and Taji all looked at Taylor when Eric called to him and stopped him from leaving. The young boy gave a shocked look when Eric stopped him and turned him around. Seeing as he had no other choice the young man listened as the Knight spoke to him. Taylor stood their speechless, no one had ever spoke to him like that before. Well people have told him to face his fears and stand up for himself... But never like this. Him A hero... Taylor never saw himself as one or ever wanted to be a hero.. But with things like this happening more often he has been forced to act.. Taylor said nothing for the longest time as Eric stared him down but not in a intimidating manner. Taylor then closed his eyes and gave a nod, yes he heard Eric's words loud and clear... And Like Fox had said before he was no longer alone... He had friends who where willing to help him. And he would need them more then ever now.. And would not run away anymore.. For the sake of his family he had to get stronger in order to defend them. I.... I will stand up and fight.." Taylor said as he opened his eyes.

[Fox]

Eric grinned again now, more genuine than he had earlier. It was easy to see the more sharp feline teeth in his otherwise human mouth now. "Glad to hear it!" He stated as he slapped Taylor lightly on the back in a friendly fashion. Fox was bouncing around happily again, happy to see that everything had worked out so well!

"See? You're not alone. We'll be happy to help you out and if need be we can all fight together." Fox stated as he looked about excitedly.

"Form our own force to fight evil? That's an excellent idea my fuzzy little friend!" Eric said, with a laugh. Fox tilted his head to one side and blinked confusion. "Wait? That was my idea? When?" The little kitsune seemed confused by the sudden idea of forming a team with everyone there. "Why just now. I for one think it's an excellent idea! We can use our strengths to compliment each others' abilities in battle and training while compensating for any inherent weaknesses as well. You're quite the cunning little creature aren't you to come up with such a plan!" Eric added bending down a little so he was eye level with Fox.

"Did I really say all that?" Fox asked aloud, looking around to see what everyone else thought of the idea that he apparently had made.
